"14 – betrayal"

$140.00

“This painting is called ‘betrayal.’ I made it in one afternoon after realizing that someone I thought I was working well with—someone I trusted—completely blindsided me. It wouldn’t have happened if there had been real trust and connection. I felt like an idiot, I was hurt, and I was a little bit sick.

“This person did it in front of others, and I couldn’t respond quickly—it was just a disaster. I used everything within reach: crayons, markers, butter knives, and acrylic paint. There are so many little details I love, and I don’t even remember making them. I remember the big, sweeping moves—flames and such—but looking back, I see the tears, the wrinkles around the ears, and her sweet little crown. I’m happy with how it turned out.”
